I have no art secrets.
There are no tricks that I can show you that will make you a better artist.
I draw the way I do because when I was young, my dad taught me the fundamentals of art. As I grew older, he showed me that there are more and more things to learn... but always there's the fundamentals. I went to college and they crammed my head full of theories. When I tried to get a job at Marvel, they informed me that I forgot my fundamentals. So I went to a wonderful place called the Kubert School... where they made sure I wouldn't forget my fundamentals.
You don't need to go to the Kubert School (although I recommend you do). Constantly practice your fundamentals. Construct object from shapes. Study anatomy. Understand perspective. Don't ignore reference. Don't be a slave to reference.
Most important: Draw every day. Draw the boring things. Rocks. Lamp posts. Sidewalks. Everything.
